The classroom carpet is a common meeting place for our class. Concepts are introduced and practiced, literacy comes to life, creative thinking and team building activities all take place here. We can gather around something new and explore it together. It's that one special place where everyone feels welcome and everyone knows that something new and exciting is about to take place! The carpet is a comfy and familiar space inside a classroom, fostering learning and independent. Our current classroom tiles don't hold together and are distracting to my learners. The students in my classroom will have the opportunity to have a place where they can all comfortably come together for our morning meeting, whole group learning, and independent reading. Creating a community is so critical in developing confident, capable learners. By having a classroom carpet, the students will have a chance to get out of their chairs and come together to learn up close and personal!
