What is the best way to learn about the properties of Parallelograms? Paper Folding will be the answer. Paper folding provide students hands on experience to "see" why certain segments and angles are congruence. Students will be able to use the theorems learned in class and apply to paper folding. Not only paper folding is hands on, students could also put their theories to test by "folding" paper and see if the lengths or angles are indeed congruent. Rich conversations would come up from paper folding. Students will be very tempted to say angles are congruent by looking at it, but now with a paper model in front of them, students will be challenged to explain how to "prove" it with your paper model. The GeoSolid models will be a great tool to show students "visually" how a certain 3-D shape is. Not only do students get to "see" how it looks like, students also have a chance to "count" the edges from the 3-D model. This will be an excellent tool for teaching Geometry.
