This wireless listening center will allow my students to be exposed to a wide variety of literature read to them by a fluent reader daily. My students love being read to and learning from different books. Unfortunately, I am only able to read them one or two books most days. Studies show that the more young students are read to, the better readers they will become. We have very limited para support available to read to students, and our families often have very busy stressful lives where they are unable to find a lot of family reading time. In the past I have tried to use a really old wired listening center without much success. Kindergartners have a very hard time using the headphones without tangling all the wires together. We end up spending more time untangling wires than listening to stories. This tangling also ends up pulling the wires out and ruining the headphones. If we get these new wireless headphones, it will allow students to easily put on a pair of headphones and instantly be exposed to fluent reading of great stories.
