I would like to get sensory items to add to our classroom to help encourage exploration and creativity in all of my students. My students will be able to use all of their senses safely. The sensory items will stimulate my students' senses to explore and investigate the world around them. My students will use the sensory stones and the bean bag chair to help decrease fidgeting while in the classroom. I am hoping this will encourage concentration and focus. The sensory mitts, sensory cylinder, and liquid flow timer will be used as calm down technique. At times, some students will place smaller items into his or her mouth. However by using the science sensory tubes, sensory bottles, and sensory collage kit, my students will be able to safely use all of their senses. The visual timers will encourage my students to stay on task while working independently. I believe my students will benefit greatly from these sensory items.
