We will read together each book at the start of class. Students will practice their social skills by discussing the themes presented. These book choices will give students a broader cultural perspective into different types of art. The books chosen will motivate students to create paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Students will complete a project based on each book we read out loud as a class. Draw Me a Star by Eric Carle will be the first book we read to kickstart our creative adventures. Students will find enthusiasm in art by painting their first star, and be able to articulate the importance of imagination.
