Students spend a major portion of their day at school in their learning environment. My school district pledges, "Every student in every classroom, without exceptions, without excuses." Therefore, my expectation is to provide an environment that encourages every student through engagement. Inspired by George Evans' quote, "Every child can learn. Just not on the same day or in the same way," my goal is to offer opportunities to learn which are suited to students' learning styles through flexible seating. Allowing students the choice to select seating during structured and independent learning as an essential first step. This will be achieved by replacing a section of student desks with lap trays, floor cushions, clipboards, and stability balls.
