Manipulatives help students to learn concepts by using the hands-on technique. Students can physically visualize math concepts and understand what they are learning. The students will use the manipulatives for sorting, counting, and developing small motor skills. The students will be able to touch and move around the objects as they play to learn. The new items will be stored in the new shelf so the students can easily reach them. The hands-on technique and the use of manipulatives are proven techniques that work for teaching pre-k students. Students at this age learn best by intentional play. Learning occurs without students realizing they are learning because they are having fun.
