As both a Social Studies and art teacher, I feel technology is a vital resource in urban education. Having access to digital technology in art, opens up so many doors for learners. I would enjoy seeing our eighth graders making a 'Class of 2017' music video in art class that showed them enjoying their last year in middle school. Photography, video making, and Garage Band are just the tip of the iceberg when considering the creative outlets provided from iPad tablet technology. For Social Studies, learners would be able to research on the iPads for supporting evidence in writing assignments, as well as to look for inspiration in an area of their own interest.
