I have started the process of implementing flexible seating in my classroom through a few stability balls and a standing desk. Although these have been beneficial to the students interacting with the additions to my class there are several students who still need accommodations. In fixed environments, students “tend to seek out their own stimulation through movement, off-task talking, or disruptive behaviors." With the implementation of more flexible seating options, students will be able to exert their energy into their work while still having a constant chance at movement from their seats. Wobble chairs and rocker chairs will strongly benefit students with ADD and ADHD rather than continuing to struggle in a stationed desk chair.
