I have used IPads before in my group rotations, however, this year I'm at a different school where I don't have IPads in my classroom. This is the reason why I would like for these new crop of children to have the same opportunity as my students had last year. I saw how my students were very engaged in different Apps for literacy, writing and word study. This increased their learning and comprehension levels in a way that I was awe strucked! It's amazing how technology makes a huge impact in the education of a child especially for English Language Learners. Using IPads, students are able to be engaged in various learning applications in small groups while my low students are with me at the kidney table where I provide one to one instruction. I can give them all the interventions they need in order to grow them enough for them to reach their grade level. They may even surpass their expectations which has happened in the past. IPads will greatly increase engagement and achievement to all my students.
