Hello! Our school is in an urban community where books are scarce and out dated and supplies are nonexistent. My students are at an impressionable age and absorb information quickly. However it is hard to teach without supplies needed such as: paper, pencils, really just the basic school supplies for them. Also, classroom materials to make it a fun an interactive learning environment where they are able to have fun while learning and are able to express themselves in appropriate ways and feel comfortable in doing so. We are in need of literacy (reading) books on their levels so they are able to improve their skills. There is a need for center materials so the students can work independently while I do guided reading groups. This will enhance the students skills while we are learning. Notebooks, folders, rulers, pencils, erasers, dry erase markers, personal white boards, guided reading books, leveled readers, these things are important for effective learning to happen in the classroom. I am passionate about my students and want them to have what they need to learn at optimum levels.
