Scholastic News Magazines will bring to world to our classroom. These magazines will provide nonfiction reading material as my students read about current events around our nation and around the world. The best element to these articles is that many are about children. My students can relate to these children's ideas and dreams. These magazines will help improve my students' reading skills. Aside from learning about current events, my students will work on skills such as main idea and details, summarizing, cause and effect, sequence of events, fact or opinion, and compare and contrast, just to name a few. They will develop these skills while learning about current events and working on child friendly, fun, follow up activities.
