In my classroom, all of the students are learning to speak and write in both English and Punjabi. It is not uncommon for a student to move to our school with little to no English speaking skills. Some students may have never been exposed to a formal school setting and may have just moved to the United States. It is my job to meet the needs of all the students and create a learning environment that is welcoming and exciting.
