It is very important in the classroom for students to have a choice. Studies have shown that choices improve student engagement and motivation! I believe that all students should have a choice of where they sit in the classroom, or where they learn best! My project will make a difference because it will give students ownership in their own learning! I first became passionate about the idea of flexible seating when I thought of myself as a learner. When I want to get work done, I prefer the option of choosing where I want to sit so that I can be the most successful. I believe the same idea applies to my students. If they have options of where they can work independently or with groups they are more likely to be successful! By teaching these students study habits, at such a young age it will help them be prepared for the future! By being gifted with these materials for my classroom I believe that ALL students will benefit. Flexible seating provides benefits for all students, including students who suffer from learning disabilities such as ADD, ADHD, and anxiety. This structure of classroom helps collaborative learning and self directed learning! Immediate benefits include motivation, enthusiasm, strengthening posture, burning more calories, or improving oxygen to the brain! Please help me to help my students be the most successful they can be by giving them choices to help them take ownership in their learning!
