One of my goals as an educator is to make sure that every child has what they need to be successful. One important aspect of learning for young children is movement. When students sit in their chairs all day we see an increase in negative behaviors and a decrease in focus and attention. In order to provide the best environment to learn, students need to be able to move but also complete assignments. By providing students with the balance ball chairs, our seating becomes more flexible. Students can bounce slightly on their balance ball during work time which can help them focus and complete assignments. They can also roll their chairs to other spaces in the room in order to work in small groups or have whole class meetings. Incorporating movement in our everyday learning will help to increase focus and attention and help us reach the goals we have set for the school year!
