As our world changes, so do the needs of our learners. As educators we know students need choice, movement and ownership of their learning. With flexible seating options, my students have choice, movement and ownership of their learning. Since all students learn differently, I have added some flexible seating choices already to my second grade classroom. Seeing its success, I believe more seating choices will only add to my students' success. In addition to the other benefits, these seating choices help with sensory input. Which addresses a need for many of my students, without the social stigma of being "that kid". I trust they will make wise choices on how and where they learn best and with these additional items, they'll have even more options!
