My students love to sit on the floor when reading or working in groups. I have a few things to sit on and they are used constantly. Having enough pillows and cushions for everyone would be great! Since everyone will have one, it will be easier for them to stay in their own space. Sitting on the floor in comfort will encourage my students to stay on task while reading or listening. Research shows that the more students read without being interrupted, the more their reading level improves. If each student has their own cushion to use while I am teaching a lesson, they will be more focused on the lesson instead of wondering when it is their turn to get a cushion.
