By allowing my students to have more tools for organization and structure, you will help them with many things. You will be helping to teach them responsibility for their possessions and their work. You are giving them the structure that young children crave by supplying them with organizational tools. The rug will help to build community in the classroom among the children. In my classroom, we are family! The rug is our "family time" and our favorite time of day. The bean bags can help the children to relax and feel comfortable during reading and work time. By helping us buy book bags and racks, you will help to give us more room in our classroom. As first graders the students need room to stretch out and do their work. This will allow us to focus more and not have to move around supplies.
