Think about this. . . as adults are we able to sit in a chair comfortably for four to five hours? For most of us the answer is no, we have to get up and move around. When we are required to sit in a chair for four to five hours are we as adults able to fully focus? Most of the time no, it is not easy to focus when we are not comfortable. Well just like us, students need to be comfortable in order to work productively/learn. By providing different types of seating options such as yoga balls, wobble chairs, balance discs, and lap trays for my students I will be able to promote a positive and comfortable learning environment where students are motivated to learn and they can easily focus. Students who have ADHD will greatly benefit from all of these seating options. Many of the resources, such as wobble chairs, yoga balls and balance discs, will allow students to move while learning, without distracting themselves or others around them. Having to sit still is something that many children with ADHD struggle with, even adults struggle with sitting still sometimes. Not only will my students who have ADHD benefit , but so will my other students. This is because my students will be able to come in and choose a seat that best suits them and their particular learning style, whether that be a lap tray, wobble chairs, balance discs or yoga balls. By donating to my project, you will help me improve and increase student focus. You will also be helping me create a learning environment that is comfortable to learn in.
