A few years ago, desks were eliminated in our classrooms. We work at tables and share materials that I provide. However, remember when you were a kid and had your own special markers or Lisa Frank binder, or giant eraser! We all need our own storage for our special belongings. The bins I have used for many years, saw their final school year this past June and need to be replaced. Having personal space in the classroom makes everyone feel that it is their classroom, as it should be. It gives an extra sense of security for my students so they won't worry about losing their things and can concentrate on learning.
