In the third grade, it is essential to have words and print everywhere. It is all over our classroom in many different forms. Word cards, learning posters, and teacher made charts are just a few of the things that help students learn. It is essential that the room have a variety of print all around so that the students are constantly looking at words. We use chart paper tablets to write vocabulary words, sentences, poems and even stories so that students could use them to read over and over again. This, in turn, will allow my students to increase their sight word vocabulary as well as increase their fluency. A supply of chart paper means that, instead of writing on the white board and then erasing, I will be able to save the language as charts to be used again and again. The fact that the chart paper has the ability to self-stick is even more useful because it can be moved around the room to best suit our needs.
