I am requesting a listening center for my classroom. We need a boombox that will play both cassettes and CD's. We also need headphones so students who are working on other projects will not be distracted by the story being read aloud. Reading favorite books while listening to the stories being read aloud on cassettes and CD's will inspire my students to become better readers. A listening center in the classroom will allow my students to listen to and follow along with stories that are written above their reading levels. In addition to being fun, my students will strive to be able to read the words in the books.
