The students in my class are struggling readers. If we are provided with the iPad requested, students will have thousands of books at their fingertips. These books will be used during small group teacher led reading instruction. Lessons will focus on teaching students reading strategies and skills that focus on phonics, sight words, new vocabulary, and reading fluency. Over half of my second graders are currently reading at a kindergarten level. My hope is to bring these students to grade level, or above, by the end of the year. This iPad will be used daily during guided reading small group instruction.
