Our electric sharpener broke last year! The school purchases basic yellow pencils, but my students with physical disabilities have difficulty using the standard crank sharpener. They love getting colored mechanical pencils as rewards and incentives. In addition, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will help keep my students from getting sick. My low-income, special education students come to school with very few school supplies. Mechanical pencils and colored dry erase markers are a rarity. They love to use their favorite color to write on the board or in their notebooks. I use multiple colors of dry erase markers as a memory aide when teaching difficult concepts.
