I am always looking for ways to help students relax in the classroom and feel less frustrated while learning. Often this means playing music. I love introducing students to songs, artists and genres they've never heard of and have some great student DJs too. However, sometimes we just can't agree on what to listen to and it would be so helpful for each student to be able to listen to their own music using headphones in order to help them concentrate. We need a class set of headphones. I find that many times when students have a hard time zoning in on their work, allowing them to plug in headphones to their computer helps them stay on track. The headphones can really help them minimize distractions. Additionally, the headphones would be used to help students listen to text read aloud for those who are struggling readers or audio learners, when they are completing research that may require watching video clips, or when using apps and other websites with audio.
