By having access to these iPads during their time in the library (in our MakerSpace), students can use apps and programs for coding, designing and creating. Designing and creating apps allow students to create digital stories, make videos with green screen effects, make music, and use apps like Lego Maker! Projects and content will be helped with the addition of these two iPads. Tools such as Aurasma (augmented reality app) and history apps like Kids Discover Civil War can bring learning to life for them. In addition, these iPads can be used as we do Mystery Hangouts with students from other schools, in other parts of the world. Google maps is used on the iPad as a tool for “drilling down” to locate the mystery school.
The donations of these iPads will add a layer to student learning and stretch student thinking.
They will make it possible for certain opportunities to take place that would not if we didn’t have them. The iPads will help students to continue to make connections and learn from one another inside and outside of our school walls.
