Enjoying this Amulet series will incite excitement amongst my low-level readers. Many of my students (around 75%) come into my 5th grade classroom with a 3rd grade reading level and below. Many times, it is difficult to find developmentally appropriate books for my lower-level readers. As their ELA teacher, it is my hope that they will leave my classroom with not only a higher reading level, but also a lifetime love for reading. My students' excitement for this series made it my duty to make a Donors Choose project for him and readers like him! I was able to snag a copy of the second book in the series and my student was done with it in nearly 24 hours! This was a student that almost never finished a book and usually spent his SSR time just flipping through pages. I am excited to see how this project will change other students' attitudes about reading as well.
