For the past four years I have had very successful behavioral management in my classroom. I feel as if this has to do with each child having their own space during whole group instruction. I have used electrical tape on my carpets for years and have had to redo the squares as the year progressed; however, this spacing has allowed my students to pay attention during carpet time because students know that they must keep their body parts within their own squares- everyone likes a little space to themselves, even 7 year olds! I know that having this carpet would continue to help me promote positive choices in my classroom, which in turn would allow students to learn more.
