Second grade students require movement in learning! What better way to achieve this then with flexible seating options throughout the classroom which will provide each student with an option to move and still be engaged with the daily activities and lessons. Very few 7-8 year olds are able to sit at a desk for the amount of time in a school day. Students in my class struggle to remain focused because of their need to move. By providing these flexible seating options, students will be able to have a variety of seating options throughout the day, instead of the average desk and chair. Students will be able to do desk work while sitting atop a wobble chair. Students will be able to read a book of their choosing while sitting in a moon chair, in place of the classroom floor. These seating options will assist my class in remaining focused throughout the day, as well as exerting that body movement that is many of the students require!
