"Bonjour!" I greet my Kindergartners in the morning. "Bonjour," they respond. French was our featured language of the month, so every school day in April, my students and I greet each other in the morning with "bonjour" and part ways every afternoon with "au revoir." My Kindergarten students are eager to learn; so eager in fact that even though it is difficult for some of them, try every month to say good morning and goodbye in a language other than English. My students deserve a world class education and all the materials necessary for us as educators to deliver that kind of instruction to them. However, with budget cuts and resource reductions, we are not always provided all the materials necessary to fully implement our grand plans. Hence, we respectfully ask our communities for their help in investing in all of our children's education. They are, after all, our future.
