Materials will be utilized by students of all levels, particularly students with special needs. Research has found that students with special needs enjoy the hands on approach to learning. Project based learning enhances the learning process as students are actively engaged in real world challenges. My students need to participate in more project based lessons as a result of their disabilities. As such, there will be a reduction of behavioral issues because students are more actively engaged. In addition, for students who wish to explore, discover and create, they will utilize these materials by making interdisciplinary connections and prepare for their future. My students will build with Straw Constructor and Legos, to design creations from their own imagination. The Ozbot Bit Starter will appeal to my students that have an interest in art, engineering, coding, and STEM activities in general. This deepens their communication skills as they can work alone or collaborate with other classmates. Students will power up with 21st century skills! Finally, reading and writing skills will be strengthened as a result of self directed problem solving and critical thinking.
