Hello and thank you for your consideration. My students attend a public Career and Transition Center in California. They are in the Community Based Instruction Program where they learn functional skills and real world life experiences. Each student is enrolled in strands that teach them how to become independent adults while learning a vocational skill. In addition, teachers on campus work on an alternate curriculum for students with moderate/severe disabilities. My strand this year is an embroidery strand where my students are learning how to use an embroidery sewing machine to create one-of a kind unique gifts that we can create to sell to those at the school as well as in the community. Besides learning a vocational skill, the students learn how to communicate more effectively by presenting the crafts that they made and showing them off to purchase. We are getting ready for the holiday season and at the present time, we are in need of stabilizer, fabrics, pillows, towels, thread, sewing notions, etc.
