The materials and supplies that I am hoping to get for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go and how they will be used. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The large carpet will be placed in the front of the classroom and used as a gathering place during mini-lessons, whole group instruction, and individual reading time. I have chosen a carpet that has different colors to help associate the students with being in groups. It is a great way to group students, calling for them to lineup, get their books, and etc. The calendar will be placed on the wall by the carpet. Students will have calendar time every morning. The carpet is the perfect place for them to sit during this time. We will be learning the month, days of the week, holidays, patterns, and different place values. This chart hits so many areas in one. Yet I truly need your support to make this a reality! Thank you for taking the time to read over my "wish list" for my students. It is something that will greatly impact their time in first grade this year.
