Some of my 26 fourth grade students live in the surrounding neighborhood and walk to school, while others spend over an hour every morning on the bus. My classroom is characterized by racial diversity, economic diversity, and diversity of learning styles and abilities. Russell Byers Charter School offers teachers and students the unique opportunity to celebrate differences and to tap into students' widely varied backgrounds in the classroom community.
