My students rarely go outside at home or at school. Children need the freedom to explore nature. I want to bring our classroom learning outside where they can learn kindergarten skills while having fun and getting fresh air. My teaching partner and I attended an outdoor education seminar this year and we were inspired to make nature and outdoor play a way to teach our curriculum. Literacy, math, fine/gross motor skills and language will all be enhanced by having the opportunity to go outdoors. The storage unit will be used to help store all our outdoor learning materials. We currently have a sand box but we need items to use in it. The sorting number and letter seashells will help build their math and literacy skills. Giant magnifying glasses will encourage exploration which in turn will promote language development.
