I am looking to help my class by bringing more individualized use of technology into my classroom. My classroom has a limited amount of technology to go around (2 desktops, 1 of which is linked up with my smart board, and 1 tablet). Providing more experiences to use a tablet for research, enrichment or just plain fun will be a welcomed opportunity for my students. "You can find magic wherever you look- sit back, relax all you need is a good book- By Dr. Seuss. This is true except that competing with video games and increased technology makes teaching reading more challenging. Some students need more encouragement or drive when it comes to sticking with a book. Bringing in tablets will allow me to utilize apps such as Raz-Kids, Reading Raven and Epic for students to read books online. It is my hope that by bringing in this added technology my students will excel and ALL develop a love for reading!
