The students lack knowledge in the multiple meanings of words. They have difficulty figuring out different words to use when writing. They often use old, used words over and over, such as good and bad. The students' vocabulary could be improved by using these 15 new dictionaries. The students could look up words while they read to better understand the text. The lack of vocabulary knowledge slows students while they are reading. Fluent reading is a great skill, but if a student does not understand what they are reading it doesn't help in the long run. There are not enough dictionaries for the whole class and the ones we have are falling apart.
