My students absolutely LOVE technology and reading! We are fortunate enough to have a few computers in our room but they are not always in working condition. The computer center and library are the student’s favorite workstations to visit during center time. Many of my students have tablets at home so they are very familiar with this technology. I would love to add a tablet workstation to our center rotations. The students can use the tablets to practice reading skills such as fluency, phonemic awareness, sight word fluency, comprehension and vocabulary skills. My students can also use the tablets to practice math skills such as addition, subtraction, geometry, and measurement. The student can also use the tablets to read during independent reading time. I am asking for six Amazon Fire HD tablets with protective covers and headphones to create a listening library and literacy center. Your generous donation to our project will improve our first grade classroom by providing the technology to help my Firsties become even more technological savvy and increase their reading and math skills! My students would be so grateful and excited to have this technology added to our classroom. They are already so excited to come to each day. This would add to that excitement!
