I want to build three digital audio workstations where students studying traditional disciplines like choir and piano will be able to compose and produce music for our school record label, Young Wonder Studios, using Logic and Garage Band software. Computers will help us understand music in new ways, learn our music through more innovative methods, and find new ways of documenting our ideas through midi, video, or digital notation. New technology, such as alternative forms of musical notation, will create new opportunities for differentiation in our classroom, making music more accessible to more students. Digital audio workstations will also empower our students to collaborate with each other by uploading content to share our performances and compositions with their peers. With new technology in our classroom, the possibilities are limitless! Computers will not only transform our classroom, they will give us opportunities to step outside our school and participate in the broader musical world, sharing our compositions, performances, and inspiration with the whole world! Pease help me empower my students with new technology!
