Computer science is becoming an important addition to education in the United States. Computer jobs are growing 2 times the national average and it is estimated that there will be a shortage of employees to fill computer related jobs in the near future. What better way to prepare students who come from lower income families for future jobs than to teach computer science. Young students need hands-on experiences when they program. Once they have learned basic programming, it is important that they solidify their learning with a tactile connection. I would like to purchase 2 littleBits kits to give students hands-on programming experience. These littleBits kits will allow my students to explore, create, and become inventors.
