I am a Student Support Specialist at a Title 1 school that services under-privileged students and hosts the greatest population of handicapped children in the county. I work to bring research-based practices to whole-student development, including the use of Restorative Practice, social-emotional education, and PBIS initiatives to help students face trauma, deal with pressure, and learn to think critically about their choices to help achieve their desired outcomes. The emphasis is on helping students believe in themselves and become well-rounded, joyful, productive, and considerate citizens.
