I am setting up a cozy area in my classroom where students can sit to read magazines and novels comfortably. With your help, I will be given the opportunity to replace the rug that I inherited in my older classroom and provide my students with current reading articles including Scholastic Action, Math and News that they can sit and read in my classroom. For many of my at-risk students, the only time they have access to quality reading materials is in the classrooms. With some of the other stresses of life, reading is not a high priority for some after the bell rings at the end of the day. It is my job as a Reading teacher to get learners excited about reading and find a text that they don't want to put down.
