Hello, my name is Meaghan McHugh and I am getting ready to teach 2nd grade English Language Learners. I accepted a position at a Title 1/high poverty school, because to me, those are the students I feel I can best serve. Many of the kids I will have in my classroom face many challenges outside of school, so my goal is to give them the best possible day inside my classroom that is full of learning and having fun. I just completed my student teaching and graduated from college cum laude, and this will be my very first year teaching! I am so excited to get started, as teaching has a been a passion of mine since I was old enough to start working with kids. I decided to join Donors Choose because it takes a lot of work, and a lot of resources to get a classroom ready for students. Most of the materials needed gets left to the teachers to provide, and I could use as much help as I can get! :)
