Your generous donations to my project will improve our 1st grade classroom by investing in the reading foundation of these students. A listening center, sight word games, and fun and calming classroom decorations and supplies will help improve my students' reading skills by giving them more opportunities to read and hear literature, as well as having a fun and calming environment to read and learn in. Creating a solid foundation will build stronger readers and writers. This will change our students' lives for the better, because with a solid reading foundation, they will have a better opportunity to become successful individuals and beat the odds that have been placed against them, being more than half residing in low income, high poverty areas. By doing this in a loving, creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence. My goal is for my students to love school and feel success at an early age --- having fun while learning!
