Your donations will help my Drama 2 class experience a form of design that many of them don't realize they do every day. Showing them a new concept of theater gives them another way to connect to the art form. There are many jobs involved in theater, and many of my students connect to the makeup aspect of design the most - especially contouring. Giving my students a chance to actually work with the material is crucial for their understanding of the design process. My design unit needs a way to work with materials that are physically there. Pictures can only do so much. I want the students to be given the opportunity design with the actual makeup palettes. My design unit happens around Halloween, which coincides perfectly with the exploration of liquid latex and "blood and gore" makeup, which is where the Severe Trauma Deluxe kit comes into play. Blood and Gore is one of the most challenging makeup skills to master, and this kit would help us practice the techniques and design masterful makeup design creations. I'm requesting Makeup Brush sets because the more brushes we have, the better, as they get dirty quickly - especially with the use of liquid latex. 3D special effects help students to explore the possibilities of changing one's facial shape in order to become another character. Understanding the world of stage makeup is critical for these intermediate drama students. It opens up a new door for students who may prefer to stay off of the stage. This stage make-up unit helps to show a new side of theatrical performance.
