Do you remember your Kindergarten class? Did you sit in a circle and read the same story over and over again? Well those days are gone. My students need current literacy center activities to equip them with reading skills. I am requesting a listening center for my kindergarten students. Students will NOT learn to read unless they have books in their hands and are listening to fluent readers on a regular basis. These books must be engaging for all students. I have many books on CD, but no way for them to be used in my classroom as a center. Please help me become a better teacher and my students become better readers. I teach in a 100 percent free and reduced lunch, title 1 school where student needs go above and beyond simply what is needed in the classroom. By providing an engaging learning experience for my students, I can create life long learners.
