The ukuleles will be used by students from three schools to perform and create music. The ukuleles will be rotated between the three schools so that all of our students will have the opportunity to play them. Our students will be excited to come to school if they get to play the ukuleles in music class! While everyone listens to music on the radio or hears it on TV or in the movies, children need opportunities to play and create their own music. Ukuleles are a great instrument to teach music theory and composition. Students learn about all school subjects through music. The students will practice writing and reading when they are creating and playing songs on the ukuleles. The students will use math to count rhythms and science as they strum on the strings. The students will collaborate with one another as they create pieces for their group.
