This will be my first year teaching fifth grade since being moved from second grade. I will be teaching science and language arts. One of our science units is learning about human bones. I know a human skeleton would be essential in teaching the students about bones. Students would be able to physically see the location and size of the bones in the human body. This would make is possible for students to easily commit the location and the names of human bones to memory. Through my first two years of teaching, I have learned how important it is for students to have concrete objects that they can physically touch and manipulate in order to be successful in their learning.
