The Scholastic Magazines offer knowledge in life skills. My students need to learn basic life skills including nutrition and money management. The students are unable to provide the basics including pencils. If you knew how much money I spent on pencils this year, you'd be shocked. I had to purchase them with my own money to avoid a five minute delay at the start of every class while the students walk around begging each other to borrow a pencil. Our classroom sharpener chews up the pencils, so I put in a request for hand held sharpeners. These items will be used year long and will improve my overall instruction.
