Our VTA classrooms are located on an old high school campus, in a warehouse building. Students and staff come to school each day ready to learn and work, but the environment and supplies are not equitable. While we cannot currently change our environment, we are hoping to upgrade some of our supplies to create a more professional learning environment. VTA is a high poverty school, all of our current supplies are hand-me-downs. The supplies that we are hoping to raise money for include, new overhead carts, desks, a Apple TV so students can seamlessly stream videos that they have created and wireless classroom speakers. We plan to use these items to create a learning environment that is professional for our young adult students. Having updated furniture and technology will provide access broader range of lessons. The high schools in our district have been remodeled, but there are no plans to remodel or upgrade our school or supplies. Other schools have new tables, chairs, computers, presentation centers and smart boards, etc., we do not. This is why we are asking for your help to fund our project.
